Leo McKee-Reid, an applied ML researcher who transitioned from rocket engineering to AI safety research, told us what it takes to do technical research in AI safety at this speaker event. After watching his live presentation and Q&A on the big screen, participants enjoyed a social with snacks and refreshments.

Participants connected and exchanged ideas at this semi-structured social event focused on AI safety. The evening featured icebreakers, discussions, and networking. Attendees enjoyed food, refreshments, and forming new connections.
Launch Event

~50 attendees came together on UBC campus to celebrate the launch of our group. The night included icebreaker activities, a brief presentation by our leadership team introducing participants to AI safety, and plenty of time to socialize.Â
