Sana is an incoming fifth-year Cognitive Systems student at UBC with a minor in Data Science. She interns as an AI Strategy and Compliance Assistant at Clause Technology, working to assess compliance and risk management AI systems. Her focus is in bridging the gap between policymakers and technical developers.
Chris is an incoming second-year BCS second-degree student at UBC, having previously graduated from Concordia University in International Business. He worked at Sid Lee for two years in content creation and brand strategy and has completed BlueDot Impact's AI Safety Fundamentals course. He volunteers at UBC's PLAI lab.
You will create graphics, manage Instagram & Linktree, update the website, and pitch to UBC platforms like newsletters. You’ll help promote events and programs, making UBC AI Safety more visible on campus.
A portfolio is an asset but not required.
You will manage the event calendar, book guest speakers, and plan new events such as socials, panel discussions and fireside chats. You will manage the events committee who handle event logistics.
As part of the Events Committee, you will handle event operations, including booking venues, coordinating catering, and managing guest sign-in. You’ll work closely with the VP Events to bring AI Safety events to life.
You will be responsible for creating collaborations with faculty, research labs, and campus organizations. You’ll work with Marketing and Events to promote joint initiatives while bringing key opportunities to the Presidents.
You will design and manage the curriculum for our policy programs, book rooms, and select facilitators.
Prior exposure to AI Safety Fundamentals, past UBC AI Safety programs, or similar initiatives is valuable.
A policy or governance background is an asset but not required.
